2025: Iconic Copperpeace Moments from the First Quarter of this Century

2025: Iconic Copperpeace Moments from the First Quarter of this Century

A retrospective on highlights from the first quarter of this century, featuring Copperpeace.

25 years into this century and we've been making guitar straps for almost 18 of those years! Definitely a few artist moments have stood out in that time.

Here's a compilation of some special moments with Copperpeace over the last couple decades.  Since we love all of these moments, check them out in no particular order:

–> The Copperpeace Launch Party at the Gibson Guitar showroom in Beverly Hills, California

When and where it Officially began!  Copperpeace launched with an art show and concert!  Yep.  Before all of the current styles we created a collaborative of artist designed who designed one of a kind art pieces with guitar straps as a canvas. At the launch party there were also lots of great performers alongside the custom art straps.

–> Phoebe Bridgers smashing her guitar

We couldn’t begin this list without highlighting this iconic moment on SNL. The smashed instrument sold for $101,500, with Phoebe generously donating all the proceeds to GLAAD, an LGBTQ nonprofit.

Let's be honest, no other guitar strap than the Copperpeace Silver Glovely could have handled so much drama.

–> Katy Perry and the "I Kissed a Girl" Era

Once upon a time Katy played guitar at her shows. And it was awesome.

Katy Perry played the guitar at several of her concerts at the beginning of her career, including the Hello Katy Tour and the Witness: The Tour. Not only did she have a white glitter Gibson Les Paul, she also had one of our original Copperpeace Glovely guitar straps.

Katy, please play guitar again!

–> Walk the Moon at Taylor Swift's 1989 tour and one of the best dance-along songs of the past decade.

Taylor Swift invited Walk the Moon to join her for an electrifying performance of their hit song “Shut Up and Dance.” With all the glitter and glam, what better choice to complete the look than a Copperpeace Glovely guitar strap?

–> Portugal the Man on Kimmel and at the GRAMMYs

Portugal the Man performing, "I Feel it Still"– one of the best songs of the past decade to hit airwaves (in our humble opinion). PTM rocked a Copperpeace silver sequined Glovely guitar strap during many memorable live television appearances the year following the release of this song.  ANNND we danced along the whole time!

–> Alanis Morissette performing with a gold Gretsch Swarovski studded guitar

'Cause I've got one hand in my pocket And the other one is givin' a peace sign.

Take a look at this stunning Gretsch guitar adorned with Swarovski crystals! The perfect complement? The Copperpeace Gold Glovely guitar strap, of course. Alanis rocked this guitar and strap on a few TV spots and live shows.

–> Gwyneth Paltrow on Glee

Gwyneth Paltrow alongside Naya Rivera and Heather Morris delivered a beautiful performance of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" on Glee.  This was her only reoccurring scripted television role.

Gwyneth portrayed the recurring character Holly Holliday on the musical series from 2010 to 2011, a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.  We were thrilled and surprised when we saw her wearing a Copperpeace Herringbone guitar strap for this iconic and memorable television performance.

–> Diego Boneta on 90210

Diego Boneta portrayed Javier Luna in the 90210 reboot series, where he also showcased his musical talents by singing and composing songs for the show.  He wore a Copperpeace limited edition strap, featuring turquoise embellishments in this scene.  We loved the original 90210 as well as the reboot.

–> Flula on Conan

Throwback to when the comedian actor Flula appeared on Conan, proudly showing off his Copperpeace Lanny Pack— "It fits so much!"  Copperpeace first launched the limited edition color-block version of this fanny pack back in 2012.

–> The Jonas Brothers "Jonas LA" on Disney Channel

Remember when the Jonas Brothers had their own show? They performed L.A. Baby (Where Dreams Are Made Of) on the series, giving the Copperpeace Limited Edition Tuxedo Strap its moment in the spotlight!

–> Gracee Shriver on The Voice

Gracee competed on Season 17 of NBC's hit show "The Voice," where she impressively secured a spot in the top 16.  We loved everything about her style, and the Copperpeace sequin Glovely guitar strap was the icing on the cake.

–> The Avett Brothers Gap Commercial

Copperpeace made another iconic television appearance, this time on the Gap commercial featuring, The Avett Brothers wearing Gap denim and the Copperpeace Herringbone Banjo Strap.  This was also a surprise when we saw it and we were of course thrilled since we always say the Herringbone strap is comfortable like your favorite pair of jeans.

–> Creation of Peace General Store

Copperpeace was in search of a new office space after moving to Seattle and the best location available was also a store front!  Though wanting to be more of a Behind-the-Scenes brand, Copperpeace came up with a storefront concept, Peace General Store.  When the brick and mortar location eventually closed, it transitioned online where we reside now and have created a community that includes the Copperpeace brand at the foundation.

There it is! Reflecting on all these iconic moments reminds us how fortunate we are to have received such incredible worldwide exposure, and to all of the artists who have chosen to perform with us and be part of our journey, we are deeply grateful.
