Meet our Team // Peace General Store
Peace General Store and Copperpeace were both founded by creative entrepreneur, J. Lynn, on her mission for spreading the word of peace through her innate gifts with product, retail and design.
Holding a lifelong passion for music, theatre and crafts, her focus has always been on unique skilled makers and bespoke handmade items that not only tell a story, though become apart of your story.
J.Lynn created some of her first designs when she was five years old and sold them at a local craft fair. It was this early experience that would set the stage for a lifetime interest in entrepreneurship, handmade design and artisans. After that she began designing all of her doll clothing and halloween costumes, which her mom would help assemble from scratch. At age seven J.Lynn performed in her first musical, The King and I, and learned the true magic of transformation through design and costume on the stage. Performing in many shows thereafter, she always took extra interest in the costume department.
After eight summers at Interlochen Arts Academy, J. Lynn became well versed in a variety of artistic mediums including: block printing, ceramics, collage, and leather work. Between symphony, voice and dance rehearsals she would happily retreat to her art classes.
During her fourth year of film school at UNC School of the Arts, J. Lynn rediscovered her passion for design through working with costumes on various student films as well as costumed feature length film "The Foot Fist Way" directed by fellow UNC Alumni Jody Hill, starring Danny McBride.
It was around this time she designed the first Copperpeace banjo strap.

J.Lynn is a honorary voting member of the Costume Designers Guild IATSE Local 892 and enjoyed an early career in costume design prior to founding Copperpeace.
She has taken her passion for traditional craft arts on the road, learning everything from Portuguese corn husk weaving in the Azores, to studying traditional Chinese calligraphy, learning Japanese ikebana(floral arranging), and even apprenticing with a Mexican cowboy boot maker.
It is J. Lynn's voracious interest in travel, arts, language and culture that inspires her unique travels around the globe and drives much of the creative inspiration for Peace General Store's unique offerings.
